Why LeLitBaldaquin.fr Was Created
Curiously, the first time I ever slept in a canopy bed, it was neither with a boyfriend nor with my husband. My very first canopy bed experience was something quite different.
In 2018, during a last-minute round-the-world trip with my daughter, who was 9 years old at the time, we spent a few days on the extraordinary Curonian Spit, a long strip of sand stretching between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon.
I had booked a double room featuring a wooden canopy bed. I still remember the cozy feeling it created, the peaceful atmosphere of the place, and the special mother-daughter moments we shared during that journey. We slept wonderfully well.
Looking back, I realize it wasn’t the piece of furniture itself that left such a lasting impression on me. That canopy bed had become the symbol of an experience, a cherished memory, and a timeless escape from everyday life.
Since then, whenever I discover a new canopy bed, whether in a hotel room, a guesthouse, or a decorating project, I reconnect with a little of that same feeling.
